We recently downsized, and if that wasn't difficult enough, our new kitchen was dark, dingy, and slightly mouldy.
We scratched around for some money and were convinced that we would get a dream kitchen in the blink of an eye. My first reality check came when I realized my dream kitchen, with high ceilings, wooden beams, and expansive windows overlooking the countryside, was impossible since I moved into a small urban complex with a view of my garage. Undeterred, we persevered, and at some point, Allan May from Cromwell Kitchens exploded onto the scene. Allan cheerfully informed us that renovations were a nightmare and kitchens expensive, and any quote would probably shock us. Realistic expectations were set from the get-go!
We did not look further because, from the outset, Allan and his team demonstrated unmatched sincerity and warmth. Their friendly approach made the entire process not merely transactional but genuinely personal. Each team member was consistently efficient and always available, ensuring that we felt supported through every decision and detail.
Beyond the tangible result, Cromwell Kitchens delivered an unforgettable experience. The process was enriched by the relationships formed, and every nook and cranny of my new kitchen reflects this warmth and personal touch. Despite any initial doubts due to space and budget constraints, the experience provided by Cromwell Kitchens transcended these limitations, leaving me with both a beautiful kitchen and newfound friends.

From our first consultation to the final slab, Allan and Ryan at Cromwell Kitchens have been nothing short of kitchen wizards. If Hogwarts had a School of Culinary Construction, these two would be the headmasters.
When they first walked into our outdated, well used kitchen and wasted space dining room (a relic from the 90s that even disco couldn't save), Allan and Ryan assured us they'd work their magic. They werenât kidding. Their consultations felt more like comedy shows, with Allan cracking jokes while Ryan played the straight man, keeping everything on track. It was like having a kitchen designed by a stand-up duo who happened to be fantastic at their art.
The design process was smoother than our new quarts countertops. Allanâs eye for detail and Ryanâs knack for functionality were a match made in kitchen heaven. They even managed to mediate a few minor âdebatesâ between me and my spouse about countertop heights and drawer placements.
But the real miracle came during the implementation. We were prepared for the usual construction chaos, but Allan and Ryan orchestrated the whole process like a well-rehearsed cooking show. They didnât just build us a kitchen; they created a masterpiece while keeping us entertained with their banter and DIY horror stories. Even our dogs became their biggest fans.
Now, we have a kitchen that not only looks amazing but also feels like a joyful space to cook, eat, and laugh in. If you need your kitchen remodelled and you want the process to be as delightful as the outcome, Allan and Ryan are your guys. Just make sure you have a sense of humour and plenty of coffee. Trust me, you'll need it for all the late-night 'design epiphanies' often sent to Allan at ridiculous hours!

From the outset I was exceptionally impressed with the prompt reaction to my initial kitchen renovation query. A visit to the beautiful showroom of Cromwell Kitchens sealed the deal. Allanâs sincere interaction with me assured me of his dedication. He is certainly hands on and he kept me in the loop as the project progressed. When taking measurements of my kitchen, Allan and his son were extremely professional and arrived on time. This helped greatly as I was only able to arrange an hour to take them through the kitchen.
The consultation process ran over two appointments in the late afternoon (which I greatly appreciated as they accommodated my work schedule). I appreciated that Allan took the time to understand my style and functional needs rather than forcing anything. We were able to go through every detail through a digital rendering of the kitchen design and a set of samples. This helped to visually walk through the kitchen and picture how I would move through the space (including ideas for a tea/coffee station - which I use daily). As a person who is very particular, I was deeply impressed with Allan's attention to detail (which included looking at the symmetry and balance of the kitchen).
When it came to the installation process, Allan was able to draw on his network and provide me with contact details for a kitchen reseller (who would be able to sell my old kitchen) as well as a builder for the work needed. The installation process ran slightly over two weeks (which included breaking down of walls etc.) with all teams being professional and tidy. Given that this was during the third Covid wave, I was appreciative that they were able to complete the work before further lockdowns.
All in all, I am extremely happy with the resulting kitchen and the service provided by Cromwell Kitchens (I've received many compliments on my kitchen!). Being a family business, I could see the care and pride they take in designing their kitchens. I would strongly recommend them.
